Cloud computing is being hailed by industry analysts as the current big trend in information technology. Companies want to ensure employees have the ability to access and synchronize data both inside and outside their company walls in a safe, effective and timely manner. Cloud functions (server less, or pay-per-second compute) will transition to mainstream as the years go by. By the year 2021, eighty percent of Fortune one thousand companies will conduct at least one routine task using cloud functions.Cloud-enabled services are being extensively applied to drive efficiency and save costs, this is because Cloud-based applications can be virtually accessed from anywhere.

– Vivek Kundra, former federal CIO of the United States.
